The title should be explanation enough. Watercolor is painting with water paint on a semi wet surface or with thinned down paint to give a non opaque surface. When I [paint in Acrylic, I frequently use water color techniques to do my paintings although I do not use water to thin the paint rather I use a clear medium so as not to damage the paint matrix. I work on watercolor to better equip me to do watercolor painting. I am able to take it all the way down to the gesso layer ad if there is a strata of paint remaining a little sanding or a thin coat of gesso will bring it back to the original white. I use a Gessoed surface instead of a raw paper surface which is un yielding and not able to be corrected to my whims. Gessoed surface allows me to use lifting with my painting layers. These pieces are new and I have lot to learn, Most below are experiments they were done to help me see and experience the limitations of watercolor as well as the properties |
